Why do most people prefer a male boss to a female boss? We asked relationship expert John Gray, Ph.D., author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus.

 

"The male manager will give room for you to prove yourself, while women tend to micromanage," Gray explains. "You need to get credit for your own work to move up the corporate ladder. If the woman keeps micromanaging, she gets the credit. Actually, men prefer women managers at the beginning of a job when they don't know the ropes. After that, they can't stand the micromanaging."
